Executive coaching for lawyers

The legal question is rarely the only question.

As your career advances, technical excellence remains essential. But the hardest questions increasingly involve leadership, judgment, relationships, identity and what you want next. I work with lawyers navigating those moments.

When the role gets larger

Your legal training may have prepared you for the work. Leadership asks something more.

From adviser to enterprise leader

Your influence now depends on more than the quality of your legal judgment. You are helping shape strategy, leading a function and contributing as a member of the executive team.

Partnership, practice & firm leadership

Making partner—or becoming responsible for a practice or firm—introduces a different set of questions about clients, business development, people, culture and power.

What we may work on

The questions beneath the legal question.

Leadership & influence

Leading a team, advising a CEO or board, and becoming effective when expertise alone is not enough.

Power, conflict & judgment

Navigating difficult stakeholders, competing obligations, organizational politics and decisions without clean answers.

Confidence, identity & range

Expanding beyond the role in which you have already proved yourself without losing the strengths that brought you here.

Fit, transition & what comes next

Examining whether the role, environment or path still fits—and making a deliberate choice about what to preserve or change.

Why I understand

Lawyer · GC · Operator · Founder · Coach

Before becoming a coach, I spent more than two decades as a litigator, in-house lawyer, general counsel, operating executive and founder. I know the profession from within, and I have also sat on the executive side of the table, where legal advice must be weighed alongside commercial, organizational and human considerations.

That experience helps me understand both the standards and pressures lawyers carry and the broader leadership context in which they operate.

Coaching creates a confidential place to step back from the immediate demands of the role, see the situation more clearly and decide how you want to lead—or what you want to do next.
